You will find that Disney used most of the memorable scenes in the trailer, like the wide-eyed cub Simba who was held high by Rafiki on Pride Rock in front of gathered animals and beasts of the African Pride Lands to make it known to all that he will be their future king. Then, comes the same remarkable Circle of Life song in the background by singer, songwriter Elton John.

It is like reliving our childhood and seeing your favorite characters once more after two decades. It would seem that Disney is using nostalgia for the original to help promote this new adaptation. Most of the scenes from the epic Disney movie “Lion King” were recreated shot per shot that is why many people felt nostalgic when the trailer first came out. And it is actually a good call because the teaser instantly became one of the most-viewed in a 24-hour period.

This Jon Favreau’s film will feature the voice of James Earl Jones as Simba’s dad – Mufasa, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, and Donald Glover as Simba. Also included in the remake are tracks from the original classic soundtrack by Elton John, Tim Rice, and Hans Zimmer – Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, I Just Can’t Wait To Be King, and Can You Feel The Love Tonight?

Jon Favreau’s remake of “The Lion King” journeys to the African Pride Lands where Simba – the future king will go through the most difficult challenges and take his rightful place on Pride Rock. Disney’s African Pride Lands refers to a vast kingdom inhabited by numerous species of animals living in the savanna.

The new adaptation of The Lion King features Donald Glover’s voice as Simba, the young lion next in line to be the king of Pride Lands. Glover is also known for Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) and The Martian (2015). James Earl Jones who plays Simba’s father, Mufasa is the only cast member from the original film. For Simba’s friend and love interest Nala, Beyonce was Jon Favreau’s first choice. The director even mentioned that he was willing to adjust in order to accommodate the singer’s hectic schedule. Chiwetel Ejiofor also joined the cast as the voice of Scar.

Disney’s The Lion King remake is due for release in the US in July 2019. The said date will mark the 25th anniversary of the original 1994 animated film. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau who is also the director of two more successful live-action remakes – “The Jungle Book” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Favreau’s version of the film uses photorealistic animation which is also similar to the kind of virtual cinematography technology that they have used in creating the remake of The Jungle Book.

This movie is really something to look forward to in 2019. The first teaser just enhanced the excitement of the people who get to see and fell in love with it in 1994.
