Prada Bought a Bakery — Is the World Ready For $500 Designer Bagels?
Prada is in the pastry business.The high-end designer of purses and dresses isn’t getting into bagel and blintzes. It’s just expanding its portfolio, according to people in the know.
“Prada is getting into the pastry biz with the majority acquisition of the iconic Pasticceria Marchesi in Milan. The bakery, which is located on Corso Magenta, has been serving up their beloved pastries, chocolate, and panettone since 1824.”
Prada is currently financing the restoration of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world, in conjunction with Versace.
