According to UAE Newspaper The National, Saleh became involved with vlogging because of boredom. Armed with a smartphone, he decided to do some comedy about his Muslim family, and his videos quickly caught people’s attention. He also wanted people to better understand Islam, due to a painful childhood memory: a friend went to his house and saw his mom with a hijab. The friend never talked to him again.
Many of his videos are pranks and social experiments. In one, he wanted to see if people treated a Muslim any better if he drove a nice car. In another, he and a friend had an argument in front of a police officer dressed as typical Americans. The officer ignored them. Then they did the same experiment in Middle Eastern garb, and the officer went after them.
And more recently, he was removed by a flight for (according to Delta) trying to scare other passengers as a prank. Saleh says that he was just speaking to his mother in Arabic. We will have to see what happens with this case in the future. You can watch the video here:
