Alia Bhatt’s Mother Addresses The Wedding Rumors & Sheds Light Into Her Daughters Upbringing
Some might say Alia Bhatt is currently going through the best phase in her life. The actress has just won a Filmfare for the Best Actress and is also dating one of Bollywood’s most eligible actors, Ranbir Kapoor. Teasers and songs from her epic Karan Johar movie Kalank have also been released. It’s no wonder that Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan is bursting with pride at her daughter’s achievements.
In a recent interview, Razdan made claims that might surprise some of you. She revealed that Alia was given a down to Earth, normal, middle-class upbringing. Do you really believe that?
Alia is the daughter of a successful Bollywood producer and director named Mahesh Bhatt, and her mother is an actress in her own right, and thus had every chance of living a life of luxury. However, Razdan says that she and Mahesh were adamant about giving their daughter a sense of normalcy and did not instill in her that she was a star. She goes on to say that, if she had led an extravagant lifestyle and had been treated like a star for an early age it would have messed her up and would not be the person that she is today. Alia was raised in an average household, like other kids. In a typical house, and she led a normal middle-class life.
Bhatt’s mother also added that she would love to work in a movie with Alia, but they haven’t been offered such an opportunity these days. However, they have worked together earlier in Alia’s career in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi.’ “She’ll always have my support, but I don’t think I should discuss her personal life with the media. It’s not right on my part to talk about her (her love life) in an interview. As a mother, I’m just happy if she is happy.”, she said.
Razdan did give her two cents on her daughter’s relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, mainly referring to the rumors that the two love birds are all set to marry this year. Razdan was asked to address rumors and said she’d rather not talk about her daughters’ personal life but would undoubtedly give her “a word of caution” when it comes to making life decisions.
“My daughter is still very young. Alia started working at a very young age. I am happy with whatever she has achieved thus far, and as a mom, I want to see her happy,” said the No Fathers In Kashmir actress and added: “At the same time, I also would give her word of caution. She is still very young to rush into any lifetime decision. While personally, I believe that when you find the right man to get married, you should get married without delaying too much. But that does not mean, you have to get married in a hurry. You have to draw a fine line while taking a decision.” The actress was speaking at an event of her new film No Fathers In Kashmir.
