According to Forbes’ list of the world’s richest billionaires, Bill Gates is in the number one spot for the third consecutive year in a row.
He is accompanied in the ranks by other successful American businessmen such as Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezsos, the Koch brothers, Oracle’s Larry Ellison and more.
This year, Gates is reportedly worth an estimated $75 billion. Business Insider said in 2014 that it would take Gates 218 years to spend all of his money. He could casually afford about three Ferraris a day.
But instead of practicing expensive spending habits like his net worth would allow him to, Gates has committed much of his fortunate to making the world a better place.
He heads the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which helps fund health and education projects on a global level.
But just because Gates has dedicated much of his time and fortunate to philanthropy doesn’t mean he refuses to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Just like you would expect out of any Forbes list billionaire, Gates lives in an extravagant mansion that took seven years and $63 million to build. According to Business Insider, the house now is worth $123 million after Gates finished it
It includes all of the amazingly excessive things you’d expect from such a house: home theatre, 24 bathrooms, six kitchens, garages for 23 cars, and a lake with sand imported from the Caribbean.
On Reddit, Gates admitted his most expensive guilty pleasure was his private plane.
In other words, Gates doesn’t live too far off from what you’d expect out of a man who has topped the list of the world’s richest billionaires 17 times.
