He attended Boston University’s School of Management and graduated in the year 1990 with a degree in Business Administration. He then officially started his career by working as a marketing and promotion manager for Columbia Records in 1990. At Columbia, he worked with current big names in the industry such as Beyoncé Knowles, New Kids on the Block, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Aerosmith, John Legend, and more. He was given the position of executive vice president of creative marketing and promotions in 2004 before eventually leaving a year later.
Charlie Walk then moved on to being the president of Epic Records in 2005 where he worked with artists such as Shakira, RedOne, and Jessica Simpson. He was able to establish a partnership with ABC, which allows viewers to purchase music from artists under his label.
In 2009, Charlie Walk gave up the position at Epic Records and co-founded the RJW Collective which was later renamed JWALK. The company was closely affiliated with Lacoste, ABC, and Endemol USA.
