Ed Kowalczyk was born on July 16th, 1971 in York, Pennsylvania, U.S and is an American singer and musician. Ed Kowalczyk is the founding member of rock band Live and was in the band since the beginning. Aside from a small hiatus, the singer joined back in the band in 2016 and it looks like it’s a permanent stay.
Ed Kowalczyk is of Polish descent and attended York City School District as a teenager. It was at this particular school that he met the other three members of Live as they joined together for the very first time. Since 1984, Ed Kowalczyk went along great with the other members of Live. Things were going great as they were selling millions of albums worldwide and every member stayed for the next 25 years. It was not until the year of 2009 did Ed Kowalczyk find himself feeling left out. The other members of Live fired Ed Kowalczyk saying the singer did “inappropriate actions”. Due to this, Ed Kowalczyk went on to have a solo career releasing several albums from 2009 until 2016.
Live replaced Ed Kowalczyk with Chris Shinn which was seen as a big move from the band. The band always stuck to their original members so this is the first time fans had to see a new people join the group. Ed Kowalczyk did not like his departure and sued the other members of Live. Things stayed this way until in 2016 the two parties made an agreement to get back together again. Chris Shinn left Live and Ed Kowalczyk was brought back. As of this moment, the band is making new music as of 2018 and promise that a new album should be on its way very soon.
Outside of music, Ed Kowalczyk could be called a Democrat. He was protesting against the Iraq War back in 2003 and he also endorsed Barack Obama to be the United States President back in 2008. He is also against racism of any kind.
