Everything’s bigger in Texas.
The W.T Waggoner Ranch is for sale for $725 million, according to the Huffington Post, and the estate covers six counties in Texas and 800 square miles.
There, ” you’ll find 7,500 cows, 500 quarter horses, 20 cowboy camps and several huge lakes, according to the news agency SWNS.”
The country’s most expensive ranch- which also includes 1,000 wells for pumping barrels of oil, has never changed hand before so its sale would be nothing short of historical.
As of right now, the property has three principal properties on the land, two of which are occupied by heirs and stakeholders.
According to the Daily Mail, much of the land hasn’t “yet been explored for oil and other mineral reserves,” meaning the next owner of the grand estate could have many opportunities under his or her feet.
The estate is being put on the market after the end of a long court battle that started in 1991 when granddaughter Electra Biggs filed a lawsuit seeking liquidation of the estate and prompted a family feud that would last past her death in 2001 until now.
Local residents hope the “right’ buyer gets the most expensive ranch in the country as opposed to a profit-minded owner who will ruin the land and fire the ranch employees.
