Kim Kardashian’s “Nerve Wrecking” Return To Paris
A life-altering moment for Kim Kardashian was when she was held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room two years ago. Kim, who was the reigning queen of social media, took a hiatus from all her social media platforms. The reality star had not returned to Paris for almost two years, until now.
On last week’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian explained why she decided to visit Paris again for the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2019 menswear show in the summer.
Kim’s husband, Kanye West has been friends with Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh for years and wanted to support his “brother” by attending his show in Paris. Virgil Abloh was the best man at the couples’ wedding, so it’s no surprise that Kanye wanted to fly to Paris to show his support.
West, understood why his wife may have reservations against going back to the City of Lights with him, and thus decided not to put any pressure on his wife. On their reality show West told Kim “I don’t want to put any pressure on you to go to Paris,” I know that it was really had the last time you were in the city.” He did however say, “. So I think just for the culture, for Kim Kardashian West to attend a show by the first black designer at a Louis Vuitton who was the best man at my wedding, just the world would just love to see you there.” Yes, Kanye knows the obsession that the world has with Kim K. People either love her, or love to hate her, and either way she knows how to draw attention. This is the foundation of her brand after all. So what did Kim K have to say to her husband? Her eloquent reply was, “I have to think about it.”
In true Kardashian fashion, she consulted her sisters Khloe’ and Kourtney, who offered support of her short trip to Paris.
The reality starlet was torn between wanting to support her husband and his best friend, and the fear of reliving the trauma of being held at gunpoint. The family matriarch Kris Jenner also encouraged her daughter to travel to France, and told her “it was time.”
Kim hoped that taking this short trip to Paris would bring back a positive of the City of Lights. She opened up to her audience by sharing that she had “magical” memories of the city that had now been tainted by one incident, and by going on the one day trip she might make some new “magical” memories with her husband.
Once they landed in Paris, the couple refused to stay in small boutique hotels and preferred the security of a five-star hotel. She also confided that being back in Paris was “nerve wrecking” and decided not to focus on anything negative.
Before leaving for the show, she freaked out after seeing there were a lot of paparazzi outside the hotel and wanted to make sure there was enough security.
In the end, however, she attended the show and did what she does best, which is pose for the cameras.
