It’s been decades since the original O.J. Simpson trial. In the 1990s, Simpson was acquitted for murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, although he was later found liable in a civil suit. But O.J. wasn’t free for long. Only a few years later, he was convicted for armed robbery in Las Vegas. Now, O.J. Simpson is up for parole again, and will see whether he’s out for good.
But the Simpson trial has affected many people, including the family of Nicole Brown Simpson, the family of Ron Goldman, as well as lawyers and others. Where are these people now? What is their net worth in 2018? Read on…
In 2007, O.J. Simpson was found liable in a civil case regarding the death of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. As a result of the case, O.J. Simpson was forced to pay $33.5 million to the families of Goldman and Simpson.
Unfortunately, however, the families received only a small fraction of what they were owed. The $33.5 million was supposed to be $25 million in punitive damages, and $8 million in compensatory damages.
But after O.J. Simpson’s trial, he was over $1 million in debt, and was unable to pay out the settlement. In order to earn some money, the court forced Simpson to auction off some of O.J. Simpson’s belongings, including his Heisman Trophy. In total, the families only received less than a half million dollars from Simpson.
We estimate the Ron Goldman family net worth at less than $1 million, and the Nicole Brown Simpson family net worth at less than $1 million.
O.J. Simpson had very wealthy and accomplished attorneys. You may remember Robert Shapiro, one of O.J.’s main attorneys. Shapiro has since died, however he is the patriarch of the Kardashian family, which is worth around half $1 billion in total.
Another of O.J. Simpson’s lawyers, Johnnie Cochran, worked for such famous people as Sean P Diddy Combs, and others. He died in 2005 of a brain tumor, but he at the time was estimated to be worth up to $25 million.
