The Royal Family at Queen’s Diplomatic Reception 2018
The Queen’s Annual Diplomatic Reception is one of the grandest formal events of the year. Queen Elizabeth II looked more majestic than ever in her cream and gold gown with exquisite lace and floral patterns. Her Majesty wore a sash and badges, a gold purse with matching gold shoes, and a lovely diamond necklace. She also used one of her most famous headpieces – Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, which features a striking set of diamonds. The said headpiece was custom-made in 1893 by the high-end jeweler Garrard.

Women came in their most fabulous ball gowns and tiaras for the special occasion. The Queen hosts the Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace annually in early December. The event attendees consist of members of the Royal family, foreign diplomats, and ambassadors that have shown their support to the works of the royal family in the UK and other parts of the world.
Prince Charles was present at the gala along with the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, and the Duchess of Cambridge. Duchess Camilla came in her beautiful white gown and tiara while the Duchess of Cambridge wore a stunning gown that is fit for a modern-day Disney princess.
Kate Middleton’s silvery-blue gown was created by Jenny Packham, a famous British designer who makes wedding gowns and ready-to-wear collections. The design has a glittering skirt, sequined belt, sheer cap sleeves, and bead clusters at the torso. She matched her dress with delicate accessories. Kate wore her favorite tiara which also happened to be one of Princess Diana’s favorite tiaras when she was still alive. The Lover’s Knot Tiara has an amazing royal history of its own, as it was a family heirloom, it features precious diamonds and pearls.
Kate also wore the Royal Family Order, a yellow badge that is pinned to her dress. The badge has a small portrait of the Queen painted on glass with diamonds. The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed while speaking to other attendees, as they have gathered at the Buckingham Palace for the yearly formal celebration.
Unfortunately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t able to attend the gala because they had a prior commitment to a charity event – Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund.
