Scott Wilson was born on March 29, 1942 in Thomasville, Georgia, U.S. His real birth name is actually William Delano Wilson, but he changed his name to just Scott throughout his long entertainment industry career. The first film he got a chance to star in was the movie called In the Heat of the Night released in 1967. The movie was about suspected killers and he played one of the characters that were accused of the crime. It wasn’t a huge part, but it managed to put his foot in the door at Hollywood.
The murder theme followed Scott Wilson in his second film role as he played the role of real life killer Richard Kickock in the movie called In Cold Blood. The film was well received during its launch. The reason why he was cast in the movie was because the director liked the fact that he was unknown at the time. Originally the main roles of the movie were meant for Steve McQueen and Paul Newman but the director got his way at the end. Another film people may remember him in is the film adaptation of The Great Gatsby released in 1974 opposite Robert Redford. He played the role of George Wilson which was based on the novel of the same name.
