Steven Aaron Jordan also known as Stevie J, was born on November 2, 1973 in Buffalo, New York. Prior to Stevie J’s career as a music producer in the 1990s, he often performed with Jodeci as a bass guitar player for their live performances. He was also a member of Swing Mob, a record label founded by Devante Swing, a Jodeci member. After Swing Mob folded, he joined Bad Boy Records and produced the self-titled debut album of 112, an R&B quartet. He also produced several records on Notorious B.I.G.’s album. The Grammy Award came from his work on Sean Combs’ No Way Out album.
Stevie J also worked with Mariah Carey on her Butterfly and #1 albums in 1997 and 1998, respectively. He also produced for Beyonce, Brian Mcknight, Lil’ Kim, Tevin Campbell, Deborah Cox, Simbi and Tamia. Stevie J also appeared on Jodeci’s 1995 album, The Show, The After Party, The Hotel.
