• Super Yacht Will Cost More Than GDP of Small Countries

36 guests can comfortably stay in this 222-meter-long super yacht that will cost the unnamed owner $1 billion. It has been named “Triple Deuce,” and its slated to be fully built and ready for the water in Spring 2018.

Super Yacht Will Cost More Than GDP of Small Countries

It’s the world’s first billion dollar yacht, and of course it brings with it some high expectations. It will have seven decks, and all the luxuries you’d expect from something that’s worth a billion dollars (think: helipad, elevators, private gyms, kitchens and staterooms).

In addition to the billion dollars it will cost to build, experts estimate it will cost between $20-30 million to upkeep every year. Talk about a commitment.

It has yet be revealed who exactly is footing the bill for this massive super yacht project, but Craig Timm, broker for 4Yacht, the company responsible for the project, says he’s working with UHNWI (ultra high net worth individuals). We’re so NUHNWI (not ultra high net worth individuals) that we didn’t even know this acronym existed.

And get this- originally, the mysterious-slated-be-owner-of-the-biggest-yacht-ever was going to settle for a yacht of 200 meters, still setting a record for largest yacht ever. But when the owner of the current record-holder, Azzam (pictured above), built his yacht at 180 meters, it was decided that 222 meters would have to be the new goal.

It’s also important to note that the yacht is built for only 36 passengers, and a cruise ship slightly smaller than it is built to hold thousands of passengers. Just goes to show the kind of luxury and opulence these lucky people will be living in.
