MTV’s Teen Mom stars- the graduates of 16 and Pregnant– are some of the most unlikely yet biggest reality television stars on TV. While Teen Mom fixtures have earned themselves substantial pay days (see: Jenelle), many of them have also squandered their earnings thanks to repeated legal troubles (see: Jenelle). As a result, many of the stars have relatively low net worths despite their significant reality fame. Two of the series’ break-out stars aren’t doing too shabby, however, as revealed through Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra net worth. The two would soon after become fixtures on the 16 and Pregnant follow-up, Teen Mom and continue to appear on its revival, Teen Mom OG. Catelynn and Tyler were lucky enough to find success outside of MTV, too. In 2013, the two capitalized on their relationship problems by appearing on VH1’s Couple’s Therapy, starring alongside Flava Flav, Joe Francis, and Chingy. Some sources rumor the salary for the show to be as much as $100,000. Last year, the two released their book Conquering Chaos to generally positive reviews; several news outlets picked up their inspiring story about overcoming almost impossible odds to reach success. In addition to successful reality careers, the couple also supposedly have 9-5 jobs helping disabled adults, and they’re early struggle with adoption helps them secure speaking engagement gigs, which likely adds significantly to their respective yearly salaries. The money has helped them buy their dream home and finally have the wedding of their dreams. While some sources claim that the couple shares a net worth of $20,000, we definitely think that number is much greater.
Update in 2018:
Catelynn and Tyler have been doing well over the past several years. The main stars of Teen Mom OG earn $30,000 per episode or more these days; and they can easily bring home $300,000 to $400,000 per year. But in addition to Catelynn earning that, Tyler is earning from MTV as well. Although we don’t know exactly how much less he’s making, it’s likely at least $15,000 per episode. In total, the two of them are earning at least $500,000 per year.
