Sadly Verne Troyer recently passed away and people will remember him most as the actor of ‘Mini-Me’ in the Austin Powers films. He was only 49 years old at the time of his death. While it’s sad to see him pass away, he did have a successful career that managed to put a smile on a lot of people’s faces. It made him kind of richer than the average working American. So what is Verne Troyer net worth in 2018? What are Verne Troyer’s salary/earnings? Read on…
Image Credit: Getty ImagesVerne Troyer was born on January 1st, 1969 Sturgis, Michigan, U.S. He was an actor, stunt performer as well as a comedian. Sadly, he passed away on April 21st, 2018. As of time of writing no cause of death has been announced, but his passing was announced on the actor’s official Instagram page. The announcement of his passing can be seen below.
“It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today. Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message everyday.”
Early on in his film career, Verne Troyer was typecast in roles that required him to be a short character. The first film role he had was for the movie ‘Baby’s Day Out’ and then had further roles of a similar kind in movies like ‘Jingle All The Way’, ‘Dunston Checks In’ and many more.
It was not until he got cast as ‘Mini-Me’ in Mike Myers’ Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me did he become a household name. The character was a small version of the main villain of the franchise named Doctor Evil. The role was funny and made the actor more recognizable than ever before. The role of Mini-Me further opened doors for him in the entertainment industry as the biggest movie he was in was playing the character of Griphook in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. A year after that, he reprised the role as Mini-Me in the third and final film of Austin Powers called Austin Powers in Goldmember.
The actor was not just a film star as he also appeared in many TV shows and Reality TV shows over the years. One of my favorite TV appearances from the actor was when he appeared as a guest host for WWE Raw back in 2009. Many of his other TV appearances were on Reality TV shows including the likes of Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Wife Swap and more.
While Troyer is sadly no longer with us, he did lead a great life and earned a good living for himself. He constantly found work in the entertainment industry throughout his adult life so he was always busy. Unlike other actors, he did not fade into obscurity as many people still remember Mini-Me to this day. Sadly this does mean the actor isn’t able to appear as Mini-Me again if Mike Myers decides to make a fourth Austin Powers movie in the near future. With the demise of the actor, it looks like we will not see another Austin Powers film because it wouldn’t be the same without Mini-Me. Anyway, below is our estimate for the actor’s salary in 2018 shortly before the time of this death.
In all, we estimate Verne Troyer net worth in 2018 at $3 million.
