Why Don’t We (WDW) is a Californian pop boy band. It consists of Corbyn Matthew Besson from Virginia, Jack Robert Avery from Pennsylvania, Zachary Dean Herron from Texas, Daniel James Seavey from Oregon and Jonah Marais Roth Frantzich from Minnesota. They are currently signed by the Atlantic label. In the 18 months since their inception, they have released five extended plays and nine singles.

Formed on September 27th 2016, WDW released their first single “Taking You” on October 7th of that year. They then went on to release their debut EP, Only the Beginning in November 2016. In 2017, the band released two EPs, Something Different in April and Why Don’t We Just in June, and one single in August called “These Girls”. In November of 2017, Why Don’t We released a holiday EP called “Why Don’t We Christmas”.
WDW have done work together with YouTuber, Logan Paul. Apart from making appearances on Logan Paul’s vlogs, they also collaborated with him on “The Fall of Jake Paul”, a diss track about Jake Paul. Logan has also directed some of WDW’s music videos, including the music video for “Help Me Help You.” Other directors who have directed for Why Don’t We include Steven Taylor, Sebastian A. Guerra and Eli Sokhn.
The band has released some chart topping hit singles. The single “These Girls” hit number 4 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart for 2017 and 82 on the Canadian Hot 100 for the same year. “Something Different” also made it on the charts, at number 22 on the 2017 Bubbling Under Hot 100 and 33 on the 2017 Mainstream Top 40. In 2018, their latest single, “Trust Fund Baby” ranked number 24 on the 2018 Bubbling Under Hot 100 and 37 on the 2018 Mainstream Top 40.
Their EPs are as successful as their singles. In 2017, Something Different hit number 6 on US Top Heatseekers and Why Don’t We Just topped the US Top Heatseekers for that year. Invitation, which was released in September 2017, made it to multiple charts including number 2 on the US Top Heatseekers,113 on the US Billboard 200 and number 7 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart.
WDW also made it as a featured artist to number 90 on the Australian Aria Charts through Logan Paul with “Help Me Help You”.
In the 18 months since their inception, Why Don’t We have been very active. They have already released five extended plays and nine singles and more to come!
