I’m imagining the surviving members of Wu-Tang Clan getting together, once a month, to record The Wu — Once Upon a Time in Shaolin… in a secret studio deep in a jungle of Malaysian or possibly a basement studio in the Marcy Projects. I’d believe either.
The album consists of 31 brand new tracks exclusively recorded with the entire Wu-Tang Clan (pour one out for ODB) and are packaged in a hand carved nickel-silver box designed by British Moroccan artist Yahya. There is only one copy of the album. It will probably sell for millions of dollars.
It’s worth every fat penny.
Here’s why — the last album from the clan was 8 Diagram and that was back in 2007. Much has changed in the real world, and the Wu world, in the time that’s passed. Give a group of creative men that much time to put together anything — music, ninja movies, a new popcorn flavor — and it’s sure to be a piece of hip-hop history.
Worry not Wu warrior, the tracks will be available online, streaming and bootlegged so the music will hit the air but only one shall own the original The Wu — Once Upon a Time in Shaolin…
Who will it pay the high price? We’ll have to Wu and see. Sorry, wait and see.
