Kanye West just put out a major diss track this past NYE called ‘Facts’– and focused on tearing up former partner NIKE apart.
It seems that he’s pretty well justified in his attack, since the sneakers he put out with new partner Adidas are being sold for an almost unfathomable amount of money.
Originally only sold for $200 a pair, the Kanye-produced sneaks are now going for thousands of dollars, with the most expensive pair being the Yeezy Boost 750 in gray. This model is being sold for $20,000 on eBay.
The popularity of the sneakers has exploded thanks in part to help from celebrities who wear them around town- Taylor Swift made headlines for donning the sold out Yeezy Boost 350s to start off 2018. Other celebrities have helped make the brand popular by boasting their Yeezy collections on Instagram as if the thousand-dollar-price-tag we have to pay ain’t no thing.
2018 will likely see more Yeezy releases through Adidas, and the sneaks will likely sell out lightning quick and hit the Internet for boosted prices. The cycle will continue.
